⅓cupKikkoman teriyaki sauce
3tbspPanda Express teriyaki packetsoptional
1tbspcornstarch mixed with 3 tbsp waterslurry
Directions
Prep: Slice the sirloin thin and cut it into 1 ½ inch squares. Cut the broccoli into florets and the bell peppers into squares. Slice the onion, mince the garlic, and grate the ginger. Mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl.
Sear the beef: Heat a large pan over medium-high heat and add 1.5 tbsp oil. Cook the beef in 2 batches, about 2 minutes each. Season with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and 1/4 cup soy sauce. Cook 2 more minutes, then drain the juices and keep to add at the end.
Stir-fry: Keep the beef in the pan and push it to the side. Add 1.5 tbsp oil in the center. Add the onion, bell peppers, and garlic. Sauté for about 3 minutes. Add the ginger and a pinch of salt and pepper.
Sauce it: Add the teriyaki sauce and the Panda Express packets if using and the beef juices. Stir in the cornstarch slurry. Stir and thicken for 1 minute, then remove from the pan.
Steam the broccoli: In the same pan, add the broccoli and 1/4 cup water. Let it steam uncovered for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, season the broccoli with salt, pepper, and a splash of teriyaki and soy sauce.
Combine: Add the beef and veggies to the broccoli in the pan. Toss for 2 minutes. Taste and serve hot with your favorite side, like cauliflower rice.
